Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting patient care behind the scenes? Join our Medical-Surgical team as a Unit Coordinator, where you’ll play a vital role in keeping our unit running smoothly while delivering exceptional service to patients, families, and clinical staff.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Director of Medical Surgical Nursing Services and collaborate with physicians, nurses, pre-hospital personnel, and support teams. You’ll be the central point of coordination for administrative and clerical functions and helping ensure efficient unit operations and a positive patient experience.


What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate daily administrative and clerical operations of the unit to support efficiency and workflow
  • Serve as a key communication hub between physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families
  • Provide professional front-line customer service in person and over the phone
  • Manage data entry, documentation, and unit records with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and organizational information
  • Support a fast-paced environment by multitasking and prioritizing effectively

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Coursework in secretarial studies, business administration, or medical terminology (preferred)

Experience

  • Prior administrative or secretarial experience with strong computer and word processing skills (required)
  • Experience with Meditech or similar electronic medical records systems (preferred)

Licensure/Certification

  • None required
