Job Summary

  • Reporting to the Sr. Administrative Assistant of Radiology, the IR Unit Coordinator will work closely with the Section Leader of Interventional Radiology (IR), the IR Clinical Resource Nurse, IR Nurse Manager, and Lead IR Technologist.  The Interventional Radiology Unit Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the daily operations of the IR department. This position ensures efficient workflow, coordinates patient scheduling and preparation, supports the IR team (radiologists, nurses, and technologists), and serves as a key connection between other departments, patients, and families. The coordinator helps maintain regulatory compliance, facilitates patient throughput, and supports quality improvement initiatives.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education
    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience
    • One-year Administrative Assistant/Medical Office preferred, but not required
  • Licensure and/or Certification
    • None
  • Skills
    • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and orally.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and moderate keyboarding is required. Knowledge of EMR systems preferred.
    • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented with strong ability to multi-task required.
    • Able to work effectively as a team player, or independently to balance and prioritize multiple requests.
    • Effective time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidential information required.
