Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, this person will assist in optimizing various technologies routinely used in modern Hospital Pharmacy settings.   

This job requires the successful individual to keep current with advances in high-tech solutions that offer advanced functionalities and improve patient care.

Utilizes established policies and procedures to provide proper drug distribution to all areas of the Hospital, inspect and replenish medication storage devices and to compound both Sterile and Non-Sterile medications.  Sterile drug compounding may also involve the safe handling of some Hazardous drugs in accordance with all State and Federal guidelines.

Will work somewhat independently on various project improvements as outlined by Department leaders and help train new and existing Staff members on different technologies and/or processes.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Knowledge and ability generally acquired through a high school diploma.
  • Training as a Hospital Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • 2 Years of Hospital Pharmacy experience is also preferred, but will train
  • Familiarity with medical/drug terminology and abbreviations.
  • Ability to walk and stand 90% of the day and to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

Licensure and/or Certification: None          


Pharmacy Technology Specialist

  • Above average technology skills in the Hospital Pharmacy setting
  • Experience with Omnicell, Meditech, Kronos, Mosaic, Sentri-7/Simplifi-797, Aethon Robotics, KitCheck, AccuPrint/Milt 4 packaging and label printers, Amerisource/McKesson/Cardinal ordering & inventory control systems, Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
