Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders, greets patients, visitors and physicians entering the department, answers and manages phone calls to the 4 East department lines, accurately assists in various forms of record processing for 4 East departments. Must maintain a high level of patient confidentiality via HIPPA guidelines and be committed to Service Excellence at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical Terminology course preferred.
Previous coursework related to administrative skills preferred.
Experience:
One year in a medical office environment preferred.
Customer service, data entry, and Hospital RIS experience a plus.
Licensure and/or Certification
None required.
Skills:
Organization and multitasking skills
Ability to read and communicate effectively using medical terminology
Accurate data entry skills
Courteous and professional manner when dealing with public both in person and on the phone
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, i.e., answer phones, give verbal reports, generate paperwork in an organized manner all at the same time as well as working with minimal supervision
Knowledge of medical terminology
Maintains standard of performance which promote Service Excellence
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer skills required.
