Patient Services Representative-Radiology Per Diem

Reporting to the Lead Patient Service Representative, the Patient Service Representative(PSR) rotates between the departments: X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT, and Mammography. The PSR greets patients and visitors entering the department. The PSR generates and sorts exam requisitions, accurately enters exams into the HIS/RIS system. Must maintain a high level of patient confidentiality via HIPPA guidelines and be committed to Service Excellence at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Terminology course preferred.
- Previous coursework related to administrative skills preferred.
- Experience
- One year in a medical office environment preferred.
- Customer service, data entry, and HIS/RIS experience a plus.
- Licensure and/or Certification
- None required.
- Skills
- Organization and multitasking skills
- Ability to read and communicate effectively using medical terminology
- Accurate data entry skills
- Courteous and professional manner when dealing with public both in person and on the phone
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, i.e., answer phones, give verbal reports, generate paperwork in an organized manner all at the same time as well as working with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Maintains standard of performance which promote Service Excellence
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Computer skills required.
