OR Clinical Flow Manager

The OR Clinical Flow Manager is a key operational leader and resource in the perioperative environment. As leader of the Operating Room Schedule, the OR Clinical Flow Manager has direct responsibility for maximizing the efficiency of patient progression through the perioperative patient experience and optimizing the surgical schedule.
As part of the leadership team, time will be spent directing and monitoring patient progression in perioperative departments' high-volume, highly complex environment. Functions in a role to expedite collaborative decisions to progress patient care to maximize on-time starts and room turnover by deploying resources.
This position is the key controller, facilitator, and integrator of the effectiveness and efficiency of the daily schedule. The OR Clinical Flow Manager will partner with Anesthesia colleagues to
optimize the OR schedule two to three weeks in advance. The OR Clinical Flow Manager will work with the OR surgical booking secretary, physician offices, scheduling, and OR nursing teams to optimize the schedule and balance conflicts multiple weeks in advance. The OR Clinical Flow Manager collaborates with the anesthesia charge person, perioperative nursing leadership, business operations manager, and surgeons to determine, through critical judgment and decision-making, that daily optimum utilization is attained and participates in data collection to support unit-based projects and initiatives. This position collaborates, participates, and leads projects, initiatives, and data collection to support department goals.
The Clinical OR Flow Manager will develop and promote team philosophy and interdisciplinary collaboration among staff to foster a continuum of care for the perioperative patient.
Minimum Qualifications
· Education
o High school diploma or equivalent Required.
o BSN preferred
· Experience
o Operating Room experience required
· Licensure and/or Certification
o BSN preferred
o BLS

o Ability to prioritize room/staffing resources and problem solving based on patient need and established protocols.
o Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
o Computer proficiency with surgical information systems in addition to MS Office.
o Meditech and SIS experience preferred.
o Ability to maintain confidential information.
