Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Infection Control, Patient Safety & Clinical Compliance, the Manager of Infection Prevention has overall responsibility for the coordination and implementation of the hospital-wide infection control program.
The role of the Infection Preventionist is conducted on-site to include direct interaction front line staff members and leaders from across the organization.
All duties will be performed in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the mission and vision of the hospital and the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program required.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Epidemiology or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Three years experience in Infection Prevention required.
- Acute healthcare experience required.
- Licensure and/or Certification:
- Current license as a registered nurse required.
- Current CIC certification, or obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Current APIC membership preferred.
- BLS required, or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Skills:
- Must be able to maintain a database for infection surveillance data.
- Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis and performance improvement.
- Strong leadership, mentorship and teaching skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and exemplary conflict resolution skill set
- Ability to work independently and facilitate teams
- Organizational skills

- Presentation skills
- Proven problem solving, process improvement and project management skills
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English
