Healthcare Analyst

Job Summary: Reporting to the Director, Physician Practice Billing, the Healthcare Analyst serves a key resource for EPA and the EPA revenue cycle team supporting the Service Line Directors, Office Managers, and Practice Leads regarding matters related to operational, revenue cycle, financial, dashboards or other required metric reporting or analysis. With the guidance of the Director, Physician Practice Billing, the Healthcare Analyst provides support in developing, maintaining, and verifying reporting systems, utilizing IBM Cognos, Excel, and other applicable tools for charge capture, reimbursement, productivity, access, and operational improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required in Healthcare Administration, Health Policy, Business, Finance, Computer Science/Information Systems or related field.
Master’s Degree preferred, combination of healthcare-related field and computer science.
- Experience:
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to learn new systems and processes, such as Electronic Health Record systems, testing systems, internal/external databases, as applicable to the position.
One or more years of experience with creating dashboards and detail-listing reports utilizing IBM Cognos preferred.
One or more years of experience in data analytics in any industry preferred.
One or more years of experience manipulating large data sets with Microsoft Access or SQL preferred.
Familiarity with the EPIC medical record preferred.

- Create, develop, and maintain datasets holding key revenue cycle information for analysis. Manage these datasets over time ensuring accurate updates and quality assurance.
- Develop and provide regular reports, dashboards, and metrics to management.
- Ability to analyze and research reason(s) for changes in key revenue cycle metrics.
- Independently manage daily work and support special projects and ad-hoc research, analysis, and reporting requests.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs, specifically Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of programming tools, such as IBM Cognos, SQL, or Crystal.
