Job Summary:

Reporting to the of the Vice-President, Emerson Practice Associates (“EPA”), the Director, Physician Practice Billing oversees the physician billing operation of EPA. Responsible for ensuring effective revenue cycle protocols are in place and followed, compliance with regulatory compliance and the achievement of industry standard revenue cycle outcomes. A primary responsibility is to work as a liaison between the billing company and EPA and directly manage the relationship with the billing vendor and hold them accountable for performance. Additionally, the Director will staff and directly oversee the EPA billing team ensuring appropriate resources and expertise to facilitate growth while managing processes to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency. The Director will focus on creating a culture of continuous improvement and regularly suggest and implement opportunities for performance enhancement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:

BS degree in business, finance, accounting or healthcare administration is required.

Master’s degree in business, finance, accounting or healthcare administration preferred.
 

  • Experience:

3-5 years of supervisory and/or front-line experience in revenue cycle analytics and/or revenue integrity.

Proven background in presenting data and analytics to senior management to support business decisions.

Background in developing workflows and solutions for new and existing service lines.

Strong knowledge of third-party billing practices and reimbursement in a physician/hospital setting.

Strong knowledge of CPT coding, general accounting, and medical terminology.

Thorough understanding of billing systems and their clinical applications with ability to train staff as appropriate.
