We’re looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented Inpatient Hospital Pharmacist to join our dynamic pharmacy team. In this role, you’ll be a key player in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for hospitalized patients.
What You’ll Do:
- Verify and dispense medications accurately for inpatient use
- Review medication orders for safety, efficacy, and compliance with hospital policy and guidelines
- Monitor patient therapies and lab results, recommending adjustments to treatment as needed
- Provide drug information and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and care teams
- Supervise and verify the work of pharmacy technicians/students
- Document clinical interventions
- Participate in the multidisciplinary care of the patient
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (Joint Commission, USP, state/federal laws)
What We’re Looking For:
- PharmD or BSPharm
- Active pharmacist license in Massachusetts
Preferred
- Prior inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience
- Prior sterile compounding experience or oversight of compounding
Desirable
- Completion of a PGY1 residency
- Board certification (e.g., BCPS)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited college/university with a B.S. in Pharmacy or a Pharm.D. degree is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is highly preferred
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency desirable.
Licensure and/or Certification:
- Active licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible for reciprocity) is required
- Board Certification is desirable
Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
