Job Summary:

Reporting to the NAKA Supervisor, the Patient Access Scheduling Oncology Infusion Coordinator assists in the daily operations and performs a wide variety of revenue cycle responsibilities and provides support to the physicians and staff in the clinic.

The Patient Access Scheduling Oncology Infusion Coordinator (PASOIC) is a member of the Patient Access Department at Emerson Health. The Infusion Department handles more than 500-600 patient calls or appointments weekly, schedules and registers all services for all outpatient visits.

The PASOIC in this assignment demonstrates a working knowledge of scheduling for Outpatient Services to include but not limited to: Integrated Clinical Services, , and Oncology Infusions.

The PAOISC schedules patients in the outpatient clinic as part of his/her duties. PASOIC’s perform these duties face to face with patients in addition to performing patient calls.

We are currently looking for a Patient Access Scheduling Oncology Infusion Coordinator (PASOIC) to join our team.

Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

One year experience working as a coordinator in a clinical setting and/or patient registration/scheduling areas preferred

Licensure and/or Certification:

None

Skills: 

  • An upbeat, approachable and compassionate approach when working individually with each patient.
  • Accuracy in data entry of patient information in the computer systems.
  • Critical thinking skills and a solution focus approach.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge in chemotherapy regimens and medications preferred
  • Experience successfully working in an environment with competing priorities and demands.
  • Sensitivity and compassion for our patients, who may experience difficulties and challenges as they seek cancer care.
  • 1 or more years’ experience in a hospital, outpatient facility or physician office scheduling or registration setting, or performing data processing is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and moderate keyboarding is.
  • Knowledge of Meditech, Epic and Mosaiq to access and utilize electronic medical records is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented with strong ability to multi-task required.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment as it relates to patient scheduling
  • Ability to maintain confidential information required.
