Under limited supervision, assists the Director of Pharmacy Services with the operations and administration of a major department at Emerson Hospital. Advises, assists, and represents the Director on a wide range of management and operational issues affecting the Department, the Hospital and its community in close integrated liaison and follows up on the Director's behalf. Oversees and manages daily operations, manages the daily review of charges and reconciliation and provides direct administrative support to the Director of Pharmacy.
Education - High school diploma or GED; Directly related accounting and management expertise in fiscal services, administration, and human resources gained through either 2 years of equivalent-level work experience OR completion of related college-level course work that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description
Experience - Word processing and/or data entry skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Licensure and/or Certification: Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration: demonstrated skills in contemporary hospital practice involves handling of routine and special medications, preparation of sterile products, automated dispensing devices, handling Hazardous substances, inventory control, etc. National Pharmacy Technician certification
- Skills – Strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of clinicians and patients. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and follow through on tasks to completion. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential financial issues.
