Job Summary:

Reporting to the Cheift OT, the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist who has a minimum of five years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy. In addition, the Certified Hand Therapist has successfully passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation. The clinical practice position requires an advanced understanding of hand/UE anatomy, research principles, and treatment techniques.  Responsibilities include assessment, planning, treatment, and ongoing evaluation of the provision of care for a diverse hand/UE patient population.  The CHT provides patients and family education and support.  The scope of hand therapy services for patients and families includes all phases of care including prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, and education/caregiver training.  The CHT works effectively on a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program required.

Experience:
5 years as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)

Licensure and/or Certification:
Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in Massachusetts required.
Certified Hand Therapist by Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC)
Preferred Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
BLS healthcare provider required.

Computer skills required.
